Who is responsible
Louis Vermeulen, independent consultant based in Barcelona, Spain, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. For questions or to exercise your rights, contact contact@louisvermeulen.com.
When you enquire about a project
The contact form asks for your name, email address and a description of your project. Company name is optional. Your message and the page from which you submit it are sent to HubSpot to manage the enquiry and any resulting consulting relationship.
This information is used to respond to your request and take steps towards a potential engagement. The form asks for your agreement to be contacted about that request. It does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Please avoid including sensitive personal information or confidential client records in the form.
If you contact me by email, I use the information you provide for the same purpose.
When you request a guide
The guide form asks for your name, email address and agreement to process your request. Company name is optional. Your details and the name of the requested resource are sent to HubSpot to provide the guide and record the request. The PDF is made available in your browser after the submission is accepted. This does not subscribe you to a newsletter or other marketing emails.
Resource requests are retained while needed to provide and manage the requested resource. Contact me to request deletion or withdraw your consent. Downloading a guide does not require analytics consent.
After a successful guide request, a copy of the PDF is kept in this browser tab’s session storage so you can download it from the confirmation page, including after a reload. This download access is valid for one hour. The stored download contains no name, email address or company details. If this storage is unavailable, the download remains available on the form page.
Optional audience measurement
Google Analytics is loaded only after you select “Accept analytics”. It helps measure page visits and interactions such as consulting links, successful enquiries and guide downloads. Contact form contents are not included in analytics events.
Google may process technical information such as browser and device details, page addresses and online identifiers. Analytics cookies are configured with a six-month lifetime. Analytics do not run on the local development preview.
Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from reading the site or submitting an enquiry. Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change your choice at any time. Rejecting after accepting disables further analytics collection by this site and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this domain.
How your choice is remembered
A versioned preference is stored in your browser’s local storage for up to six months, whether you accept or reject analytics. It records your choice and its date. This preference is necessary to remember your decision and is not an advertising identifier.
If browser storage is unavailable or the preference expires, analytics remain off until you choose again. After a successful submission, a receipt in session storage retains only the submission time and whether the conversion has been measured. It remains valid for 30 minutes so reloading the confirmation does not record another enquiry. It contains no form contents; conversion measurement occurs only when analytics are permitted.
Providers and technical requests
The website is hosted by Vercel. Hosting providers may process technical request information to deliver and protect the service. Fonts are served directly with the website, without a request to Google Fonts. HubSpot processes consulting enquiries and guide requests. Google Analytics is an optional provider activated through the consent choice above.
These providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area, under their applicable data protection terms and transfer safeguards. See HubSpot’s privacy policy, Google’s privacy policy and Vercel’s privacy policy for their processing details.
Retention and your rights
Enquiry records are retained for the period needed to discuss your request and manage any resulting engagement. Contractual or administrative records may need to be retained longer where required by law. You can contact me to ask about the retention of your specific information or request deletion.
Depending on the processing and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or object to its use. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, including the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
Your personal information is not sold. No privacy or security measure can guarantee absolute protection, but access should be limited to what is needed to manage the service and your request.
